Join Our Board

We are looking for volunteers - who are passionate about using their skills to impact others and to empower Zambia’s vulnerable community - to join our Board of Directors! We have several positions available for those of you who are interested in joining our team.

We wouldn’t be here today without every single donation, big or small. Your support changes the lives of the vulnerable community in Zambia. Without your support we are unable to help those in the community who need it most!

Internship

Get involved by joining us on the ground and volunteering at FHCI! Meet our staff members, our teachers, our students and improve your NGO management skills or curriculum development and teach students in our programs!

Support Overhead

One of our main challenges at FHCI is raising funds for our overhead costs. These are the administrative costs associated with running our programs such as staff salaries, supplies, and office rent. Without overhead, none of our programs would exist, and we wouldn’t be able to teach or support students in any way. Donating to our overhead has a massive impact because it supports not just one student but every student we work with. If you are interested in making a difference in Zambia and supporting FHCI, overhead is the place to donate!

Empowerment Programs

We run several Empowerment Programs to help Zambia achieve Gender equality by 2030. These programs require funds in order to pay for facilitators, transport, meals for the students, community workshops etc. If you’d like to contribute to this goal, donate here!

RMD and Planned Giving

What is RMD and Planned Giving?

RMD stands for Required Minimum Distribution, which is the minimum amount of money you’re required to withdraw each year from common retirement accounts once you reach a certain age, (usually 70+), in order to avoid significant tax penalties. Planned or Legacy Giving is another way to include us in your long term plans, which can include naming us as a beneficiary for stocks, retirement, or life insurance accounts, to name a few.

How will the funds received impact our programs?

This avenue of giving will be utilized for future projects, such as our community center. “The Haven” will be a one-stop shop for our students and families to receive vital resources, access to a health clinic, recreation center, and a boarding home for students fleeing unsafe living environments. The Haven will also include a school in which our students with learning disabilities will be able to learn in a manner that is conducive to their individual growth.

Why is it important?

These funds will allow us to fulfill our dreams of building The Haven and to facilitate all of the future programs and services we dream of being able to provide!
