AFRICAN SAFARI EXPERIENCE

African Safari Experience is a travel agency located in Livingstone, Zambia. Director Steve Roberts founded this company in order to bring a wider travelling audience to Sub Saharan Africa so that they can encounter the fascinating cultures of the region in addition to engaging in traditional touristic activities. Steve’s love of Zambia and a core part of his ethos is to Give Back to the place that has captured his heart and passion.

With this in mind, Livingstone is an ideal destination resort for African Safari Experience. Clients will have the opportunity to visit Free Haven Community Initiative, where they will be able to interact with vulnerable children in FHCI’s sponsorship program who need sponsors. Through this opportunity, we actively encourage clients to see the benefits that your financial support makes to these children, as well as providing a volunteer opportunity for those who are interested.

LILATO FOUNDATION

Lilato means "love" in, Lozi, one of the regional languages spoken around Livingstone, Zambia. Love that unfortunately does not come naturally to all children in this world. In 2012, Anne Smudde was given the opportunity to take a few months off from work. She made the choice to do volunteer work in Africa. Some children run away from home and are able to return home, others are orphans and do not know if they still have relatives somewhere. The children who are taken off the street sleep in or near the school, until a good solution is found for the children. After the necessary discussions with the headmistress of this school, the idea arose of a kind of 'transfer house' for these children. That was the beginning of Lilato. Several laters later, Lilato is now used as a Community Center where other NGO’s host workshops and conduct lessons. We are very grateful to have partnered with Lilato, it is the perfect safe space to host our Girl and Boy Impact sessions every Tuesday!
